On October 31, TÜV Rheinland Greater China – an international independent third-party testing, inspection and certification organization – held its first “Green and Sustainable Value Chain Conference” in Shanghai. The event brought together global energy leaders, top think tanks and green finance reps to discuss energy transition, offering one-stop green solutions for the industrial chain (policies, standards, finance, implementation).
As TsingshanGroup’s first new energy lithium battery enterprise, REPT BATTERO was invited and won TÜV Rheinland’s “Sustainable Partner” Award for its outstanding green low-carbon and sustainability practices. At the conference, Killian Xu (Head of REPT BATTERO’s ESG Office) signed a battery passport cooperation agreement with TÜV Rheinland and delivered a keynote Practices on EU Battery Regulation Compliance, explaining the regulation’s core requirements and REPT BATTERO’s implementation paths.

Green Transformation Actions
Killian Xu noted the EU aims for climate neutrality by 2050 and has rolled out policies like the European Green Deal and EU Battery Regulation to build a sustainable battery ecosystem. The regulation sets strict full-lifecycle rules for batteries (raw materials, carbon footprint, recycled content, supply chain due diligence) and introduces a “battery passport” for traceability – pushing enterprises to speed up green transformation.
REPT BATTERO, guided by its ESG vision “Driving a Sustainable Future”, is advancing zero-carbon transformation at its 6 global production bases and building a supply chain traceability system. It is a member of the Global Battery Alliance (GBA) and UN Global Compact (UNGC), and has won awards like Shanghai Climate Week’s “Climate Beacon Supply Chain Case Award” and Forbes China’s “Sustainable Innovation Enterprise”.

Compliance Pathways
To meet the EU Battery Regulation, REPT BATTERO focuses on three key areas:
Carbon Footprint: Set up a task force, used Gabi software for modeling/certification, and completed carbon footprint accounting for 2 products in 2025 (per EU drafts).
Supply Chain Due Diligence: Released a Responsible Sourcing Policy, conducted on-site ESG audits for key material suppliers (lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite), and disclosed reports regularly.
Battery Passport: Divided development into 4 phases (regulation analysis, pilot, platform building, launch) to connect data systems, enabling traceability via QR codes.

Upholding the “REPT” Philosophy
In closing, Killian Xu emphasized energy is the cornerstone of quality life. REPT BATTERO will stick to its “REPT” philosophy (Reliable, Environmental, Pioneering, Talented), deepen tech innovation, practice green manufacturing, expand global cooperation, and contribute to a green, resilient global energy value chain.
